The GTA's five casinos to scale

Five casinos in Toronto and the GTA, drawn with one ruler so their sizes can be read side by side. The table below holds every figure with the date it was checked, and the How many fit tool compares any two.

Counters and pages read October 9, 2026, on greatcanadian.com. Where official figures differ, the ruler takes the casino page's current counter: see how the ruler works.

Choose two casinos and a measure, and the tool divides one figure by the other. Both are drawn with the same blocks, on the same ruler.

Toronto ≈ 2.0 × Pickering (machines)

How the ruler works

The drawings use five measures, and each has a fixed unit. One block stands for 100 machines. One tile is 1 live table game, and one tower floor is 20 hotel rooms. For stages, one block of seats stands for 100 people of capacity. A remainder is drawn as a part block, and poker rooms appear as rooms without a table count.

Each casino is measured by the figure its own page shows now, from a counter or from the text, and that figure carries its date. Where no current figure exists, the ruler prints no number. If two current figures on official pages differ, the method page names both.

Checks ran on October 7, 8 and 9, 2026, against the casinos' own pages on greatcanadian.com, Great Canadian Entertainment news releases and official sources. The counters on the ruler were read on October 9, 2026.

What the five are

Two of the five are casino resorts. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto opened on June 20, 2023, next to Woodbine Racetrack in Etobicoke. The original Casino Woodbine building there is now called the Grandstand Casino. Pickering Casino Resort had its official grand opening on April 26, 2023. Its hotel opened in January 2023.

Casino Ajax stands at Ajax Downs, a Quarter Horse track where OLG Slots opened in February 2006. Its own page gives 500 slots; the operator also lists electronic table games, and there are no live table games. Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is on Scugog Island at Port Perry, on the land of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation. It opened in 1997.

Great Canadian Rewards works at all five casinos.

Questions

Why does Toronto count slot machines and e-tables, while Pickering counts slot machines?

Each casino's counter has its own scope. The Toronto page counts 4,500+ slot machines and e-tables together. The Pickering page counts 2,200+ slot machines and shows 50+ electronic table games on a separate counter. The ruler keeps each figure in the units the casino uses and does not merge them.

Why is poker drawn as rooms, not tables?

The current poker pages give no table counts. Operator releases gave 30 tables at Toronto in May 2024 and 18 at Pickering in January 2024, but those are dated release figures. So the drawing shows each poker room without tables.

Which casino has no live table games?

Casino Ajax has no live table games. The operator lists electronic table games, slot machines and a restaurant and bar there, and the casino's own page gives 500 slots. On the drawing, its row of table tiles stays empty.

Do the figures change?

Counters on the casinos' own pages can change, and the ones on this page were read on October 9, 2026. Where no current figure exists, no number is printed.
